Youth Offending Projects

We currently work in partnership with many Youth Offending teams in London providing Reparation and Unpaid work programs. Our flagship program is the Bicycle Recycling and Repair project which is unique to Streetwise Group in the way that it is designed and delivered

Introduction

The aim of the Bicycle project to to equip the young people who take part with usable skills which includes industry standard training in Bicycle Mechanics which is accredited by The IMI. In addition to this we also teach the young people how to start and run a business, how to write a business plan, interview skills and how to write a C.V.

The training will focus on two major areas the first being the technical aspect of repairing and recycling bicycles and the second will be on the business aspects of starting a new business or community project, or how to apply for job. This would involve how to write a C.V and covering letter, Interview skills and tactics, how to plan and write a business plan, looking at the different types of businesses i.e. Limited company, Sole Trader or Community Interest Company. This we believe will help the Young People who take part have more options with regards to their future careers.
